Datacenter Network Support Engineer L2 _ St Louis ,MO Fulltime Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Level 2 Network Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining and supporting the data center infrastructure, including troubleshooting, hardware installations, and ensuring the data center's cleanliness and organization.  Key Responsibilities:  • Troubleshoot and execute installations with guidance from the NOC or engineering team on IT devices:  • Physical Servers  • Storage & Backup Devices  • Server Appliances  • Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (e.g., Nutanix, Cisco UCS)  • Tape Storage Units  • Power Distribution Units (3KVA and below)  • SAN Fabric Switches  • Network Switches  • KVM Units  • WAN Optimization Devices  • Firewalls  • Access Points  • Routers  • Optical Transport System • Physical Cabling and Cable Management  • Device connections (peripherals, power, network ports)  Qualifications and Skills:  Technical Skills:  • Minimum 4 years of experience in data center operations or IT infrastructure support.  • Experience leading a team executing a project. • Experienced with data center environments, including MMR, Cages, and Shared Areas.  • Knowledgeable in server hardware components: power cycling, running diagnostics, whole unit replacement, and fault diagnosis.  • Understanding of network equipment functionalities (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers): power cycling, running diagnostics, whole unit replacement, and fault diagnosis.  • Experienced in structured cabling, including standards, specifications, installation techniques, labeling, and organization.  • Basic electrician skills: power testing, connector types, AC and DC equipment.  • Knowhow to upgrade servers and switches operational systems • Basic fiber troubleshoots with power meter and looping • Basic understanding of technology WAN/LAN, Wireless, and Cloud • Experience working in or around MPOE, IDF, and MDF rooms Soft Skills:  • Leadership: Manage a group of 2 or 3 L1 engineers during a project or an incident. • Project Management: Ability to understand a project and its concepts and execute tasks related to the role. Control the timeline, activities and the team on site reporting it to the Project Manager. Be able to negotiate and remove barriers with customer resource on site. Understand technical documentation like rack elevation and floor plan. Adaptability with tasks and timelines.    • Incident Management: Strong understanding of incident management, communication, and escalation processes.  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, convey technical information, and update stakeholders.  • Attention to Detail: High precision in handling sensitive data center equipment to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.  • Flexibility: Willingness to work outside regular business hours, respond to emergencies, and travel to remote sites as needed.  • Continuous Learning: Passion for learning and staying updated on industry trends to enhance skills and knowledge.  Additional Requirements:  • Possess a personal set of tools, including a laptop, hotspot, and personal protective equipment (PPE).  • Capable of supporting team members during installations and migrations, including working on ladders and using scissor lifts.  • If you are passionate about data center operations and looking to grow your career in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply.
