Job Description

Job Description: We are seeking a talented and dedicated Data Center Technician to work for one of our largest technology clients in Red Oak, TX. This role is ideal for those looking to gain fundamental experience within the IT world. We are seeking candidates with a background in logistics, warehousing, IT Support, Cabling, and/or heavy machinery. Our client will provide training to ensure employees are comfortable and confident on the job. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) according to specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails. • Perform post-execution quality checks and verify that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs). • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identify the cause(s) of issues, and replace faulty components. • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance. • Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads. Requirements: • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components. • 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology. • Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.
